NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea with over 16.51 crore shares changing hands was leading among the most traded stocks on NSE on Monday.
Shares of YES BankNSE -0.99 % (number of shares traded: 2.09 crore), GMR Infra (number of shares traded: 1.51 crore), Suzlon Energy (number of shares traded: 1.48 crore), Indiabulls Housing Finance (number of shares traded: 0.93 crore), JP Associates (number of shares traded: 0.84 crore), Tata Motors (number of shares traded: 0.67 crore), SBI (number of shares traded: 0.48 crore), Bharti Infratel (number of shares traded: 0.48 crore) and PNB (number of shares traded: 0.38 crore) also featured among the most traded stocks on the NSE.
Indiabulls Housing Finance (Rs 317.72 crore) was leading the pack of most active stocks in value terms.
It was followed by Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (Rs 209.59 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 167.07 crore), SBI (Rs 151.09 crore), HDFC (Rs 143.95 crore), Bajaj Finance (Rs 122.72 crore), Max Financial Servi (Rs 114.02 crore), Bharti Infratel (Rs 108.77 crore), Tata Steel (Rs 107.61 crore) and RIL (Rs 105.80 crore)
The NSE Nifty index was trading 135.95 points down at 11,944.90, while the BSE Sensex was down 435.46 points at 40,734.66 around 09:32 am.
In the Nifty index, Infosys (up 1.25 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.75 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services (up 0.43 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.19 per cent) and UPL (up 0.18 per cent) stood among top gainers,
While Hindalco Industries (down 5.69 per cent), Tata Steel (down 4.07 per cent), JSW Steel (down 3.14 per cent), Vedanta (down 3.09 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 2.56 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
