Force Gurkha 2021: When we think about affordable 4×4 SUVs, Mahindra Thar is the first SUV that would come to the mind of the most. The reason behind that was because, There are currently no other SUVs available in this particular segment. Well, things are about to change as Force Motors ahs finally decided to launch the 2021 BS6 version of their Gurkha 4×4 SUV. Force Motors is all set to launch the SUV in the market on 27 September 2021. The pictures of the SUV has already circulated on the internet and now the manufacturer has also released a new video where the exterior and interior of the SUV is seen.

The video has been shared by Force on Gurkha’s official YouTube channel. The design of Force Gurkha has not changed much when compared to the older version. The body shell of the 2021 Gurkha is new but, it resembles a lot with the older model. They have made cosmetic changes on the outside to give it an upmarket feel. The front grille has been redesigned and it now gets a Gurkha branding instead on Force logo.
The headlamps are now probably LED and it also comes with dotted ring like dual function LED DRLs around it. The bumper on the Gurkha has also been redesigned. Coming to the side profile, there is a snorkel offered with the SUV as standard like the older version and the windows for the rear passenger looks bigger too. A roof rack is also seen in the video but, it is not known whether it would available as a standard with the vehicle.
Other than this, a 4x4x4 badge is seen on the rear fender and at the rear, a tailgate mounted spare wheel and redesigned tail lamps are seen. On the inside, the cabin has also been improvised. It gets an all black cabin with plastic materials all around but, it now comes with a touchscreen infotainment system that was missing earlier. Other than this, the video also mentions that Gurkha will offer an exceptional ride quality.
Like Mahindra Thar, Force has also redesigned the second row seats. It now comes with front facing rear seats and it is likely to be offered as a standard fitment. Unlike, Mahindra Thar, Force Gurkha is expected to offer more cabin space and boot space. The second row passengers get captain seats.
The 2021 version of Mahindra Thar is similar to what Force had showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. There are minor changes but, it looks more or less the same. Gurkha has always been a capable off-roader and the 2021 version is no different. Force claims that the SUV has a water wading capacity of 700 mm and can also climb slopes upto 35 degrees with 4WD. In comparison to the older version of Gurkha – Gurkha Xtreme, the 2021 version does not get 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine. It is now powered by a 2.6 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 91 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. The Gurkha is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox with low ratio transfer case and front and rear manual locking differentials.
